Berry Swanton does not wish to marry the fiancé without first having romantic experience. She wants a romance like the heroines in novels, so she tries to find a partner in high society, but none of her dates have lasted longer than a week. She is nicknamed “the girl who always gets dumped” and “the one-week romance.” To carry out her plan, she seduces an innocent baron who is visiting from the countryside, knowing she’ll be leaving him in exactly one week. She wants to seal their one-week romance with a kiss at a party on board a ship, but when her fiancé returns from abroad, he shows up at the party and confronts her about her misdeeds.
